Save the Children not sealed on orders of Interior Ministry: Chaudhary Nisar
Ready to present records for past 15 years in front of Assembly, said Interior Minister
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said on Thursday that there is no pressure from America regarding the NGO Save the Children. He said that if there was any pressure then the matter would have been left alone, reported Dunya News.
Talking at the Senate’s conference, the Interior Minister said that non-registered NGOs had been working in the country for many years now adding that many NGOs are involved in dubious activities.
Chaudhary Nisar said that several thousand persons came into the country under the pretext of NGO activities in the past. He questioned where were the rulers and intelligence agencies at that time.
He said that he is ready to present records for past 15 years in front of Assembly. He said that Interior Ministry is responsible for security clearance of foreign NGOs.
Chaudhary Nisar said that neither has Interior Ministry shut down Save the Children nor has there been any pressure from America in that regard. He admitted that had any pressure been applied by America, the matter would have been left alone.
