Water row between Punjab, Sindh settled

Row over water between Punjab and Sindh has been settled and IRSAs decision to open Chashma Jhelum Link Canal has been reversed. According to a letter issued from the PM House, the accord has been reached to close the Chashma Jhelum Link Canal. It is agreed that matters of provinces will be solved with justice. Gilani chaired a high profile meeting to review the row between Sindh and Punjab over reopening of Chashma Jhelum Link Canal (CJLC) today in which CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah were also presented. Gilani said like a unanimous NFC award and 18th amendment, the water row also has been settled out with mutual consultations. He directed that water should be distributed between provinces according to 1991 treaty. The PM said that rights of provinces would be protected. He directed the both CMs to consult the experts to figure out solution of the issue. It is pertinent to note that Federal member of Indus River System Authority (IRSA) and member from Sindh had resigned following the opening of the Chashma Jhelum Link Canal.
