Political parties have set an extraordinary example by agreement over the CPEC, says Nawaz Sharif

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday has said that incidents like Mastung tragedy are tactics of enemies to weaken Pakistan.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of the All Parties Conference (APC) to review the law and order situation in Balochistan after the Mastung incident that claimed at least 22 innocent lives.

He said that the situation in the province would come to normal. The government has resolved to curb terrorism and end extremism from the country, he added. He said that the enemies want to weaken Pakistan by their nefarious designs.

The PM said that China has refused to entertain Indian reservations over the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said that the political parties of the country have set an extraordinary example by agreement over the CPEC.

While talking about the tragic Mastung incident, he said that such occurrences cannot discourage us and halt our progress. PM Nawaz said that the leadership of the country does not want to step down from its resolutions at any cost.

The PM said that the statements of Indians over the CPEC depict their ambitions. He said that the enemies of the country cannot stand its progress. China has refused to entertain Indian reservations over the CPEC, he added.

Some powers are trying to divide the provinces finding grounds of sectarianism, he added.

He lauded the Pakistan Army for its successful operation against militants. He said that the army destroyed several networks of extremists in the country. However, he said complete elimination of extremism would require time.
