Iftikhar is not involved in his son's murder, says slain worker's father

NOWSHERA (Dunya News) – Awami National Party (ANP) central secretary general and former member of provincial assembly (MPA) Mian Iftikhar s arrest matter entangled on Monday after slain worker s father denied nominating him in son s murder case.

While talking to the media afte the court hearing, Iftikhar said that he is not involved in the murder of political party’s worker and is thankful to the people who are supporting him in the matter including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehamn, Pakistan People s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) slain worker Habibullah’s father, Sher Alam said that Iftikhar is not involved in his son’s murder. While recording his statement in the court, he said that he had not nominated the ANP leader in the case.

ANP workers raised slogans outside the court against the provincial government and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khatak against the arrest of leader.

Iftikhar said that PTI chairman Imran Khan called him brave and he is thankful to him. He expressed a resolve to find the culprits behind Habibullah’s killing.

"If father of the slain worker did not nominate me then then who did?" Iftikhar asked. It is upon the KP government to find out who put his name in the case, he added. 

However, the court sent the ANP leader on a one-day judicial remand. The next hearing will be held after at least 15 days.
