Azam Khan Swati gets 71 votes, becomes Senator in by-elections
According to unofficial results, Azam Swati got 71 while Ghulam Ali got 47 votes
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Azam Khan Swati won the Senate by-elections on Wednesday on the seat left vacant by Awami National Party (ANP) leader late Azam Hoti, reported Dunya News.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Azam Swati and Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam Fazlur Rehman’s (JUI-F) Ghulam Ali went neck to neck in Senate by-elections.
118 out of 124 members used their voting rights in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly.
According to unofficial results, Azam Swati got 71 while Ghulam Ali got 47 votes.
5 members of parliament were absent while Jamat-e-Islami’s 9 elected members could not caste vote due to not taking oath.
