Water outflow from the dams in not being increased for agricultural needs

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Electricity demand on Tuesday has reported to be reached at 15,500 Mega Watt (MW). At least nine and 11 hour-long outages are being carried out in urban and rural areas.

According to the national Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) sources, the electricity shortfall has amounted to 4,700 MW while the production is 10,800 MW. The imbalance in production and demand is leading to nine and 11 hour-long outages in urban and rural areas. Despite this, unannounced electricity outages are also being conducted.

According to the sources, the shortfall has increased due to the increase in the temperature as the season is changing.

However, water outflow from the dams in not being increased for agricultural needs of the country.
