Altaf Hussain demands creation of new province
He said that he wanted the name of the new province to be suggested from people
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Leader Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday demanded the creation of a new province for solving the problems of Sindh. He further said that the people of urban Sindh are willing to pay any price for the struggle of obtaining a new province, reported Dunya News.
Addressing Rabta Committee, various wings and departments, MQM leader Altaf Hussain said that central government has neglected the people of Sindh for the past 67 years adding that the discriminatory attitude has forced the people of urban Sindh to strive for the status of a province.
Altaf Hussain said that he wanted the name of new province to be suggested by people as the new province would not only be of MQM but of the people residing in the province.
The MQM premier said that the basis of division of Sindh had been set in 1973 when the rulers had set the percentage of government jobs and admissions to 60 and 40 for rural and urban population respectively.
Altaf Hussain said that the quota had been set for only 10 years but military governments and so called democracies have continued the quota up till year 2015.
The MQM leader said that it is the decision of people of urban Sindh, who are willing to pay any price for the struggle of obtaining a new province.
