Malik vows strict action against elements behind Karachi violence
Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that the law enforcing agencies have identified who was working against the law and order situation in Karachi. He said that strict action will be taken against those behind the violence in the city. He said that certain elements were working to create rifts between different factions in the city and that is why target killing incidents were taking place.Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Dr. Farooq Sattar also warned of tough consequences for those responsible behind the recent violence in Karachi.A joint delegations comprising of members from MQM and PPP reached Bilawal House to meet President Asif Ali Zardari. Governor of Sindh Dr Ishrt-ul-Ibad and Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah also participated in the meeting. After the meeting, Rehman Malik was addressing the media where he expressed concern on the situation prevailing Karachi and said that opposition forces were trying initiate ethnic violence in Karachi. He said that the government is pursuing the forces and hands that are behind all this. He said that a strategy would be chalked out to sternly deal with all those who are working illegally and to curb their activities.
