Saulat Mirza's execution deferred for 72 hours as new disclosures come to light
Saulat Mirza leveled grave allegations against MQM chief Altaf Hussain and other party leaders.
KARACHI (Dunya news) – The execution of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) worker Saulat Mirza has been deferred for 72 hours early Thursday morning hours before he was scheduled to be hanged in Balochistan’s Mach jail.
Earlier, Saulat Mirza in his recorded video statement few hours before his execution leveled grave allegations against MQM chief Altaf Hussain and other party leaders including Babar Ghauri and Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad. Mirza stated that the MQM chief gave instruction either directly or through Babar Ghauri. He accused that those workers which are still of use to the party but have been arrested are given protection by Governor Sindh in prison. Mirza also accused that Azeem Tariq was murdered on instructions of MQM’s chief Altaf Hussain.
Mirza also accused that any member of MQM who is gaining popularity is then removed from party. He stated Mustafa Kamal was such an example who was shamed and then thrown out of the party. The MQM worker stated that people in power should come to him so that he can disclose facts which will help bring peace.
Mirza stated that workers should learn a lesson from him. He stated that he was ashamed of his actions. He said that the political workers should open their eyes and minds. Mirza also stated that the workers were used for their own purposes then discarded like tissue papers. He also said that he was afraid that his family would be murdered.
Saulat Mirza was to be hanged on Thursday morning in Mach jail. Mirza was shifted from Karachi to Mach jail for his hanging. Mirza met with 28 people including his wife and relatives. His final statement before the death sentence was carried out was also recorded by a Magistrate.
