Shahbaz Taseer, Ali Haider Gilani in Afghanistan, says Punjab Home Minister
324 cases of kidnapping for ransom have been registered in two years, informs Shuja.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Home Minister Colonel (Retd) Shuja Khanzada on Friday affirmed that Shahbaz Taseer and Ali Haider Gillani were in Afghanistan and efforts were being channeled for their recovery whereas Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif also raised the issue of their recovery before the Afghan officials.
Shuja told that with 324 registered cases in two years, kidnapping for ransom has become a grave concern whereas the nuisance is spreading in other areas of Punjab as well.
3,000 CCTV cameras have been installed in Punjab and provincial government aims at installing 15,000 cameras across province, he added.
Punjab Home Minister informed that according to the international laws one police officer has to be allocated for 450 people whereas a single policeman in Pakistan was allocated for 1270 people.
During Punjab Assembly session, presided over by interim speaker Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani, members of the assembly demanded a raise in their salary.
