SC orders body for repatriation of Pakistanis kept abroad

Supreme Court ordered the government to form a 4-member committee comprising joint secretaries of foreign, interior, finance and law ministries for repatriation of Pakistanis illegally kept abroad on Thursday. A bench, headed by Justice Javed Iqbal, heard the missing persons case. During the hearing, Justice Javed said that the rights of the Pakistanis are being usurped and rubbished the financial hurdles in this regard as noted by the government, saying that the government could easily earmark funds in this regard. He further said that scores of people are kept in Afghanistan, but so far the foreign ministry has not taken up the issue with the Afghan government. The SC put off the case till next month.
