Balochistan: Gas crisis intensifies due to gas pipeline explosion

Citizens staged a protest against gas load-shedding today (Saturday) at Samundri Road in Faisalabad.

QUETTA/FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – A 16-inch in diameter gas pipeline exploded in Sui gas field in Balochistan and resulted to intensify the already existed gas crisis in the country, Dunya News reported.

According to the officials of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), twenty-four crore cubic foot gas has been leaked out from the system until now whereas the repairing of the gas pipeline is underway.

The officials have appealed the nation to use minimum gas to avoid further crisis.

On the other hand, citizens staged a protest against the gas load-shedding today (Saturday) at Samundri Road in Faisalabad, Dunya News reported.

According to details, hundreds of the people demonstrated a protest against the gas cut off by blocking the road.

The protesters said that people are facing difficulties due to the gas shortage in their areas and further demanded the government to solve the matter as early as possible.

The women of the community protested by taking out the stoves and utensils and chanted slogans against the perofrmance of local administration.

Moreover, the protest was called off after the time span of two hours by negotiating with the police.
