National institutions, people are hostages to elites: Sirajul Haq
Leaders have built 'mountains' of their personal interests as big as 'Himalayas', says Haq
LAHORE (Dunya News): Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has said that a particular section of people have kept the institutions and politics of the country hostages and have made its people slaves.
He expressed these views in a media briefing on Thursday regarding preparations of the JI seminar in the Sabzazar Scheme.
Unfortunately, he said, gaurdians of the ideology of Pakistan were being punished in Bangladesh while leaders of the country were acting as silent spectators.
Answering a question on the the Chief Election Commissioner’s (CEC) appointment, the JI chief said that the decision would be made after discussion with leaders of other political parties. He also said that the leaders could not save Pakistan from polio but they sure have built ‘mountains’ of their personal interests as big as ‘Himalayas’.
