PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi also participated in the protest.

MULTAN (Dunya News) – The staffers of the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) on Saturday went on strike to protest against the decision to privatize 10% shares of the company, Dunya News reported.

Several employees also chanted ‘go Nawaz go’ slogan against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The employees staged a sit-in protest at Piran Ghaib Road and termed the decision to privatize a profitable institution a result of poor strategy.

On this occasion, the protesters were also carrying placards in solidarity with Islamabad employees against whom cases had been filed.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi reached the sit-in venue and addressed the protesters with black ribbon on his arm.

Qureshi also invited the protesters to join PTI’s Islamabad sit-in on November 30.

The protesting employees announced to continue demonstrations until the cases against employees and the decision to privatize are withdrawn.
