KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Nilofar cyclone had weakened way before it could reach Pakistan, averting what could have been a major crisis. The forecast of heavy rains and storms has also been withdrawn. However, the wind that has turned the weather pleasant will last for a couple of days and it is likely to rain in Sindh’s coastal areas in next 24 hours, Dunya News reported.

According to the Metrological Department, the lower Sindh and Lasbela will see some rain in the next 24 hours.

The administration is reportedly still alert to deal with any emergency situation.

The educational institutes in Karachi, Hyderabad, Badin, Thatha and Mithi remained closed for the day.

The Met Department insists that Nilofar has turned into an ordinary storm in the ocean now and that the fishermen can resume their activities as soon as the coming Sunday.
