Army successfully achieving goals in operation Zarb-e-Azb: DG ISPR
Army will ensure that IDPs do not face any problem when they return their homes, Asim Bajwa said.
BANNU (Web Desk / Reuters) – Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Asim Saleem Bajwa on Wednesday stated that operation Zarb-e-Azb continues successfully in North Waziristan tribal regional, Dunya News reported.
Talking to media at Baka Khel Camp, the army spokesperson said that miscreants have hid huge amount of explosives in North Waziristan tunnels, which is taking some time to be cleared.
He said that army wants return of the internally displaced person (IDPs) in a pleasant atmosphere.
Major General Asim Bajwa said that army will ensure that IDPs do not face any problem when they return their homes in the affected areas.
He further stated that action against terrorists in Khyber Agency is being taken on the reports of intelligence agencies.
OPERATION KHYBER ONE
The army launched the offensive in Khyber agency last week targeting militants holed up in remote mountain hideouts on the border.
The operation, code-named "Khyber One", comes against the backdrop of a broader military operation in the lawless North Waziristan region south of Khyber, where the Pakistani army has been battling to contain the insurgency since June 15.
A military source said some insurgents were believed to have slipped away and escaped towards the Afghan border.
