Jamaat Islami endorses Tahirul Qadri's 10-point agenda
Cases against the accused of Model Town tragedy must be registered, he demanded.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) on Sunday announced endorsement for Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s 10-point ‘reform agenda’, Dunya News reported.
Addressing PAT’s ‘Inqilab March’, Jamaat secretary general Liaquat Baloch said that the multi-party alliance Milli Yakjehti Council endorses Tahirul Qadri’s 10-point agenda.
He said that all parties should review Tahirul Qadri’s stance together, adding that Model Town incident was a tragic incident in political and religious history.
Baloch said that the case of Model Town tragedy should be registered and justice be provided to the martyrs.
He said that he had said after Model Town tragedy that it isn’t appropriate for Shahbaz Sharif to retain chief ministership.
He also said that the inquiry commission should not include judges from Punjab so the process is not coerced by the Punjab government.
