AJK: 15 passengers killed, 16 injured as bus falls into ravine in Bhimber

Pakistan has one of the world's worst records for fatal traffic accidents.

MIRPUR (Web Desk) – At least fifteen people have lost their lives and 16 others sustained injuries when a speeding passenger bus crashed into a ravine near Samahni valley in Bhimber district of Azad Kashmir on Monday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the ill-fated bus was traveling from Mirpur to Samahni.

The police and rescue teams reached the site of the incident soon and retrieved the dead bodies and injured persons out of the bus with the assistance of locals present in the area.

Pakistan has one of the world’s worst records for fatal traffic accidents. Every year, 12,000 to 15,000 people die in road accidents in Pakistan, mainly because of poor roads, badly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
