41 wounded as result of explosion at shrine in Islamabad

Following the explosion, the security of entry and exit points of the city has been tightened.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – At least 41 persons were wounded as a shrine in the locality of Pandoorian rocked with explosion during a celebratory ceremony. The injured were rushed to Benazir Hospital and Poly Clinic Hospital, Dunya News reported.
According the reports, the explosives were planted at the entrance of the shrine that falls in the boundaries of Shahzad Town Police Station.
The police say the explosion took place at Chan Pir Shrine and some 200 followers were present at the time.
Reportedly, the planted bomb exploded during the food distribution that resulted in the injury of dozens.
The rescue teams along with police contingent arrived at the sight as soon as the news came in. Those injured were rushed to PIMS, Benazir Hospital and Polyclinic hospital through ambulances.
Following the explosion, the security of entry and exit points of the city has been tightened.
