LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed said on Thursday that Pakistan is fighting the battle of security and existence in North Waziristan, adding that political agenda should be avoided in such circumstances. He said even talking about toppling the government is also terrorism, Dunya News reported.
Information Minister was attending a pictorial exhibition organized by Japanese Embassy in Islamabad. Addressing the media, he said that political parties’ threats and talks about burning are not justifiable, and that street justice culture should be abolished.
He said that North Waziristan’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) are sacrificing for the wellbeing of the country and are guests to the people of other cities.
Answering a question, he said that a diplomatic contact has been established with Afghanistan government, adding that strategic relations are critical for establishment of peace in both countries.
Talking about Lahore tragedy, he said that the incident was ‘regrettable,’ and that the government shares the grief of the victims. He said the judicial commission is investigating after Prime Minister’s direction to take action.
Rasheed said that talks about toppling government are terrorism, urging political parties to play a role against terrorism.
Answering a question about Gullu Butt, he said that he condemns whatever Gullu Butt did, adding that he also condemns what people did to Gullu Butt by taking the law in own hands outside of court today.
He said that those who attacked Gullu Butt are also ‘Gullu Butts.’
