LAHORE (Dunya News) – Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed said on Sunday that he will stage sit-in protests at 15 railway stations if the government attempts to stop his ‘train march.’ He said that he will warmly welcome Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri, Dunya News reported.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Sh Rasheed said that first phase of train march will take place on June 20, when protestors will arrive from Peshawar to Lahore, adding that he is not being issued the tickets of Awami Express yet.
He said that if the government did ‘stupidity’ of stopping train march, he along with workers will stage sit-in protests on at least fifteen railway stations.
Rasheed said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is a ‘retail party’ whereas Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) is a ‘wholesale party.’
He said that those who did corruption in purchasing ‘China engines’ are threatening him of jails.
“If the government commits ‘mistake’ of arresting me, the government should pay attention that it no longer has capacity to pull off more gimmicks,” he said.
Rasheed said that he was the creator behind Nawaz Sharif’s train march.
He said that the train march will take place in train from Lahore to Multan in the second phase and from Multan to Karachi in the third.
AML chief said that a full movement will begin after the month of Ramadan, adding that Nawaz Sharif will either be celebrated or will go home. He reiterated that the opposition has to form ‘grand alliance’ for its objectives.
