ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The three-member special court on Friday rejected former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s plea seeking names of theMPs and other who collaborated him for declaring state of emergency in November 3, 2007.

Special Court registrar Abdul Ghani Soomro read out the detailed verdict which was earlier been reserved.

The court said in its verdict that the phase of presenting evidences in the case has not yet initiated and the accused can be provided these documents with due course of time.

The court said if the plea of the former president is entertained, it will be against the prior decisions of the Special Court.

The Special Court in its March 9 ruing had already declared that the phase of summoning the co-accused would start after recording the statements. The court adjourned the hearing until June 17.

Earlier, Former President General (r) Pervez Musharraf has filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) requesting to grant the permission to leave the country at earliest.

The former president in his petition has pleaded to the court to review its decision of 15 days given to the government to appeal against the decision of removing his name from Exit Control List (ECL). The petition further said that Pervez Musharraf want to visit his ailing mother in Dubai.

Another petition was also submitted to the SCH for the earliest hearing of the case. 

A division Bench comprising Justice Irfan Sadiq Khan and Justice Zafar Ahmad Rajpoot heard the petition and admitted for it for hearing.

A division bench comprising Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Tariq will resume the hearing of the petition on Saturday.

Meanwhile, anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday granted one-day exemption to former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf from appearance in the court in judges detention case.

Counsel of Pervez Musharraf submitted his client’s medical certificate to the court and took the stance that the doctors have recommended complete rest to the former president. Special Prosecutor objected to the certificate.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) granted the former president one-day exemption from appearance and adjourned the hearing until June 27.

On Thursday, the Sindh High Court ordered Pakistan’s government to lift a travel ban on former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in 15 days time, his lawyer said, possibly drawing a line under a raft of legal troubles.

On the other hand, Former president Pervez Musharraf on Thursday wrote to Interior Secretary to remove his name from Exit Control List (ECL).

As per the copy of the letter, it was pleaded while referencing Sindh High Court’s decision that Musharraf’s mother is unwell in Sharjah and that his backbone has a fracture that cannot be cured in Pakistan, therefore he be allowed to leave the country.

The letter says that Sindh High Court has ruled in Musharraf’s favour, adding that Supreme Court’s earlier decision was provisional which stands void after the conclusive decision.

Former president also attached his mother’s medical certificate along with the appeal letter.

Musharraf has been battling several court cases since he returned to Pakistan last year to fight elections, including treason charges for imposing emergency rule in 2007.
