Taliban should benefit from negotiations: Sardar Yousaf

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal minister for religious affairs Sardar Yousaf said on Friday that the government is keen to restoring peace through the means of dialogue and that Taliban should benefit from the negotiations offer.
Federal minister said that the government has empowered the dialogue committee to negotiate with Taliban. Time has come to start working for the development and progress of the country after restoring peace through dialogue, he added.
Earlier, Taliban spokesman Shahidullah Shahid refused to initiate the ceasefire and maintained Taliban don’t recognize the ceasefire. He also demanded the government to announce ceasefire first.
Pakistan government had halted talks on Thursday and a military operation was carried out in North Waziristan taking down as many as 40 reported militants.
