Muzaffargarh gang-rape case: SC terms report dissatisfactory
Nine suspects were arrested by the police out of the ten accused in the case.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed dissatisfaction over the report of Muzaffargarh gang-rape incident, Dunya News reported.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Jilani heard suo motu notice case of panchayat’s gang-rape decision.
During case proceedings, Additional Advocate General Punjab told court that copy of First Information Report (FIR) and victim’s medical report has been submitted in the court.
He further said that nine of the accused have been detained whereas one suspect is still at large.
Meanwhile, the apex court ordered the Inspector General of Punjab Police to present a complete report in the next hearing.
The case hearing has been adjourned for next ten days.
Last week, Chief Justice Tassadduq Hussain Jillani took notice of the incident in which a panchayat ordered the gang-rape of a woman in Ihsanpur’s Basti Radiwala.
The incident had taken place on January 24. A panchayat had ordered the gang-rape of a 40-year-old woman after her brother was allegedly caught with a woman of the village.
