Kashmore: Shahzain refuses to end sit-in on denial of entry to Dera Bugti
The sit-in of JWP Balochistan president Shahzain Bugti continues for the second day in Kashmore.
KASHMORE (Dunya News) - Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) provincial president Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti, along with hundreds of other Bugti tribe members refused to end sit-in at Dera Mor in Kashmore.
The grandson of late Baloch nationalist leader and former chief minister Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, Shahzain, had left with hundreds of families from Quetta and was joined by displaced families including women and children, temporarily residing in Punjab, Sindh and interior Balochistan. But the convoy of Shahzain was stopped at Dera Mor in Kashmore and was not allowed to travel to Dera Bugti.
According to Shahzain Bugti, Internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Bugti tribe were not allowed to return to their homes despite the ruling of the Supreme Court (SC) to resettle the residents.
Shahzain further said that his demand was not a political as he and his fellow tribesmen, women and children only wanted to return to their homes. He said that the participants of the sit-in were receiving threats of detention from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kashmore.
Meanwhile, families, including women and children, spent the night under the open sky without tents or sufficient food. Protestors blocked the highway which connects Balochistan to Sindh and Punjab.
Balochistan Levies, police and Frontier Corps (FC) were deployed near Kashmore to stop the convoy from proceeding towards Dera Bugti.
