Supreme Court had ordered to launch investigation against Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman in NICL scam.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Qaman Zaman Chaudhry has resumed charge of National Accountability Bureau as chairman after the probe team acquitted him from multi-billion NICL scam.

Qamar Zaman resumed his charge after one month and four days.

Earlier the Supreme Court had ordered to launch investigation against Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scandal.

According to NAB spokesperson, an investigation was held against Qamar Zaman after he left the post on November 22, 2013. The NAB probe team acquitted him in two cases related to NICL scam due to “lack of evidence” after which Qamar Zaman resumed the office today.

The probe, however, implicated former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and ex- FIA DG Malik Muhammad lqbal in the case, paving way for further investigation against them.

The NAB authorities initiated investigation against all the accused in the NICL scam, including its own chairman, Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, as per the Supreme Court’s (SC) ruling on the case.
