ECP has again rejected Nisars stance over not using magnetic ink in elections.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Secretary Election Commission on Wednesday said that magnetic ink was used during the poling in general election on May 11.

He said that standardized ink would be used during the local bodies elections and this would further highlight the thumb impression.

On the other hand, the ECP also confirmed that a letter regarding NADRA handover to ECP has also been received.
It is worth mentioning here that Chaudhry Nisar had refuted the proposal regarding handing over NADRA to Election Commission.

Earlier, speaking in the National Assembly‚ Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said he feared that magnetic ink was not used in several areas and a large number of votes are unverifiable due to use of common ink.

He said that the government has not in any manner interfered in the thumb verification process of NADRA during last five months.
