CRC couldnt agree, President to retain powers under article 232
Consensus could not be reached on article 232 of the constitution during the constitutional reforms committees meeting chaired by Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani. The President will retain powers to impose emergency in the country. Mian Raza Rabbani said it is not possible to give a timeframe for the preparation of constitutional amendments draft.Talking to media after the meeting, Raza Rabbani said the committee is working well and trying to outline recommendations that can make the constitution federal in real terms. He told that the committee will continue its work even during the session of the parliament.The committee has also recommended including provincial quota for jobs in the policy while reviewing article 240 of the constitution, sources revealed.
