RTA impounds 28 vehicles with CNG cylinders

Punjab Govt has ordered action against vehicles for school children with CNG cylinders.

RAWALPINDI (Online) - Rawalpindi Terrific Authority has impounded 28 private vehicles on installment of CNG cylinders following the orders of Punjab government.

Details said, Punjab Government has ordered to take action against the vehicles providing pick and drop facility to school children, following the orders RTA conducted operation in the area of city and cantonment impounded 28 and challaned 40 vehicles.

Owners of the vehicles protesting against this action blocked the Kachehri road and started severe sloganeering against government, while citizens faced difficulties due to blocking of road for 2 hours.

On this situation heavy police personnel of police station civil lines also reached to the spot to control the situation, however protestors spread after the assurance of district administration.

In negotiations RTA directed vehicle owners to follow new policy of government in installing of CNG cylinders and to pass their vehicles from motor vehicle examiner.
