CNG dealers announce indefinite strike from Dec 30

CNG dealers have announced an indefinite strike across the country from December 30 in protest against the governments decision to raise CNG prices and curtail gas supplies to CNG stations. Whereas, the government has changed the gas load management schedule.Talking to media at Lahore Press Club, All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) Chairman Ghias Abdullah Paracha, alongwith other officials, demanded the government to immediately end CNG load-shedding and repeal the raise in gas tariff from January 1, 2010. They also demanded to maintain at least 50 percent difference between CNG petrol prices.On the other hand, new schedule of closure of CNG stations in Lahore have been issued. According to the new schedule, instead of two weekly offs, the CNG will be made available from 8:30pm to 7:00am daily.
