Fake degree: SC disqualifies PML-Q MPA Samina Khawar Hayat
The apex court said Samina Khawar Hayat failed to prove that her degree was genuine.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Supreme Court of Pakistan has disqualified PML-Q MPA from Punjab Assembly, Samina Khawar Hayat, in fake degree case.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had reserved judgment in Samina Khawar Hayat s fake degree case on July 10, which was issued here on Thursday.
In its judgment, the apex court said Samina Khawar Hayat failed to prove that her degree was genuine.
The apex court ordered Election Commission of Pakistan to cancel her victory notification.
It is pertinent to mention here that during last hearing, the apex court was told that in 2008, Samina Khawar Hayat obtained the degree of Riphah University which was fake.
After that she presented Preston University’s degree which also appeared to be fake.
