Ephedrine case: SC dismisses ANF plea against the accused

Maintains that the accused be presented before the trial court or high court.

 

ISLAMABAD (Online) - Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed petitions filed by Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) against 7 accused persons including Hanif Abbasi in ephedrine quota case.

 

The court maintained if there were evidences against the accused they be presented before the trial court or high court.

 

A 3-member bench of SC led by Justice Nasir ul Mulk took up the ephedrine case for hearing Tuesday.

 

ANF had filed applications in SC against high courts decisions on granting bail before arrest to Hanif Abbasi and Nasir Khan and bail after arrest to Nadim Zafar, Sheikh Ansar, Ansar Farooq, Asad Hafiz and Iftikhar Ahmad.

 

The court was told that what sections were imposed in ephedrine case were wrong and due to which the accused were being bailed out.
