Govt cannot end loadshedding instantly: Khawaja Asif
Says that a comprehensive policy to resolve the issue will be drawn after the budget session.
ISLAMABAD (Online) - Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that the government cannot end load-shedding problem instantly.
Speaking in the National Assembly session on Tuesday, Khawaja said that the people are suffering from loadshedding and higher rates of the electricity units due to the inappropriate policies designed in the past.
Instant short term solutions and a road map are being developed to end it gradually, he added.
He said that a comprehensive policy will be drawn after the budget session to end the unannounced and unequal load-shedding in the country.
The Federal Minister said that load-shedding has been reduced in the past few days and the situation will improve further in the days to come.
Khawaja Asif said that in the past, government announced equal load-shedding hours throughout the country but, they did not implement.
Opposition Leader Syed Khursheed Shah demanded the government to provide electricity to the people, which was said to be kept hidden by Pakistan Peoples Party.
