Punjab Assembly to elect Speaker, Deputy Speaker today
The election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly will be held today.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Assembly will elect its Speaker and Deputy Speaker in its session today (Monday) for the next five years.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated Rana Iqbal Khan for the post of Speaker and Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani for Deputy Speaker.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) have nominated Raja Arshad Hafiz and Waqas Mokal for the two posts.
Pakistan People’s Party is not contesting the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
The election for the two offices will be held through secret balloting.
