CNG price committee fails to reach any decision
Special Committee failed to determine CNG prices and will meet again on Wednesday.
ISLAMABAD: The committee which is headed by Law Minsiter Farooq Naek evaluated the pricing formulas presented by OGRA.
Naek also expressed his anger over the failure of the petroleum advisor and secretary over their failure to attend the meeting.
The committee was formed by the Economic Coordination Committee to make policy guidelines for a CNG pricing formula.
The meeting was attended by OGRA Chairman Saeed Ahmed Khan, DG Gas Shahab Alam, Secretary Cabinet Nargis Sethi, CNG Association representative Ghayas Paracha and the Chairman CNG dealers association Abdul Sami Khan.
The committee will next meet on December 26.
The Special Committee has been assigned the task to determine policy guidelines for CNG prices.
Later‚ talking to newsmen the Law Minister said the policy would be framed on the basis of evidence and consultation with all stakeholders.
He said the Committee would submit recommendations to the ECC‚ which would toward it on to the Federal Cabinet for final approval.
The Minister said OGRA will determine prices and informed the Supreme Court accordingly.
Chairman OGRA and Secretary Water and Power and representatives of the CNG association attended the meeting.
