Memo scandal: SC issues notices to Haqqani, others involved
The last hearing of memo was held on November 13, 2012.
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) issued fresh notices to former Pakistan envoy to US, Hussain Haqqani and others involved in the high-profile Memo-gate scandal case.
A larger bench of apex court headed by chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will hear the case on January 28.
The SC has directed the authorities to remove all security concerns of Hussain Haqqani and to inform registrar after finalizing all arrangements for his security.
The last hearing of memo case was held on November 13 in which Haqqani didn’t appear due to security concerns.
It may be mentioned here that the commission established to investigate the case had reported that the memo was a reality and held Hussain Haqqani responsible for the letter.
