Cellular services to be suspended from 6am to 10am: Malik

The minister says mobile phone services will be suspended in sensitive areas for four hours on Eid.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Friday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that mobile services in sensitive areas will be suspended from 6:00am to 10:00am on the first day of Eid-ul-Azha, Dunya News reported.The interior minister made it clear that mobile service will not be suspended throughout the country.He said mobile service will be suspended in three cities of Punjab‚ two cities of Sindh and several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and Balochistan.The minister, however, declined to give names of these cities and areas at this stage and said it will be revealed later.Previously, the government had blocked the service during Youme Ishq-e-Rasool Day and Eid-ul-Fitr in a bid to keep any probable acts of terrorism at bay.
