Politicians who took money should be disqualified: Elahi

Parvez Elahi has said that politicians who received money in 1990 elections should be disqualified.

Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has lauded Supreme Court of Pakistan verdict in Asghar Khan case and said those politicians who had taken money should be disqualified.Talking to the delegations of Indian journalists and Young Doctors Association (YDA) separately, Ch Parvez Elahi said that in order to promote peace, friendship and good neighbourly relations between India and Pakistan, all issues between India and Pakistan should be resolved peacefully. He said that Punjab government had destroyed the Health Department.“We respect the verdict of the Supreme Court in Asghar Khan case. General Mirza Aslam Baig had also called Ch Shujat Hussain for a meeting at that time and offered to provide funds for the elections. But Shujat categorically refused to take money” he said.In reply to a question, he said that the verdict of the Supreme Court should be implemented in letter and spirit like NRO case judgment and action must be taken against those politicians who have been named in this case, they should be exposed and disqualified as they are not suitable for politics.
