Nawaz Sharif met Sardar Akhtar Mengal and other Baloch leaders at Balochistan House on Friday.

Former chief minister and head of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) Sardar Akhtar Mengal said that his six-point charter should not be considered any different from the six-points presented by Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman.He was addressing a joint press conference after having a high-level meeting with PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.Defending his six-points earlier submitted in Supreme Court for the resolution of the Baloch issue, Akhtar Mengal said that it didn’t contain anything against the constitution or law of Pakistan, adding that the Baloch people will not held any talks if the charter was not implemented. He further lamented that the situation of Balochistan would have been better if the six-point agenda was earlier implemented.Meanwhile, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said that the murder of Akbar Bugti was one of the blackest days in the history of the country. “The Baloch leadership is passing through difficult times”, he added.Referring to the fall of Dhaka, Nawaz Sharif said it was a high time that we rectify ourselves, adding that the matters of Balochistan should be taken up seriously.Under the six-point charter earlier presented in Supreme Court by Mengal, all alleged covert and overt military operations against Baloch people should be ended immediately; all missing persons should be procured before a court of law; all proxy death squads operating in a manner like Al Shams and Al Badar operated (in Bangladesh) allegedly under the supervision of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) should be disbanded; Baloch political parties should be allowed to function and resume their political activities without any interference from intelligence agencies; persons responsible for torture, killing and dumping of bodies of Baloch political leaders and activists should be brought to justice; and measures should be initiated for rehabilitation of thousands of displaced Baloch living in appalling condition.
