Rimsha case: Prayer leader held for manipulating evidence

Prayer leader Khalid Jadoon was arrested on charges of manipulating evidence against Rimsha Maseeh.

Police have arrested prayer leader, Khalid Jadoon, accused of manipulating evidence against Rimsha Maseeh, who has been in detention for committing blasphemy by allegedly burning pages of Holy Quran.An eyewitness Hafiz Muhammad Zubair, in a statement before the magistrate, said that Khalid Jadoon rigged the evidence against Rimsha Maseeh.Hafiz Muhammad Zubair said that he was sitting in Itekaf in the mosque when he learnt about the incident of alleged burning of pages of the Holy Quranic.He informed that Ammad, the complainant in the case, handed over the ashes of pages with Quranic verses on them to the prayer leader of the mosque Khalid Jadoon, who also added more pages to it.Zubair, in his statement added that three other people present with him in the mosque asked Jadoon why he was adding documents to the pile of burnt paper, to which prayer leader said that such an act was necessary to strengthen their case.Police have arrested prayer leader Khalid Jadoon after the statement of Hafiz Muhammad Zubair.
