Arsalan case: NAB examines responses from Dr Faqir, others

Joint Interrogation Team of NAB again examined responses received from Dr Faqir Hussain and others.

Further course of action to ensure recording of statements of Salman Ahmed and Ahmed Khalil was also deliberated at length.Since Dr Faqir Hussain had declined to appear before the JIT primarily on the ground that he was a BPS-22 officer, a second notice for appearance on July 27 has been issued to him.JIT also considered the report received from Punjab Police wherein it had been informed that Arsalan Iftikhar Chaudhary refused to receive the Notice issued by NAB. Earlier Arsalan Iftikhar Chaudhary had claimed that he did not receive any Notice.JIT will continue to hold its proceedings tomorrow and all matters including intentional and continuous non appearance of certain individuals will be discussed. JIT agreed to provide reasonable opportunity to all persons for personal appearance before taking any action to ensure compliance of section 19 Notices.JIT has discussed the matter relating to re-summon Malik Riaz Hussain for recording of statement based on additional information received in this case from an Agency.
