Local bodys polls likely in October: Agha Siraj

Sindh minister for local bodies Agha Siraj Durani said that local elections are likely in October.

Dialogues with the MQM are underway, with the hope that matters would be settled with consensus.Session of the PPP and the MQM’ core committee was held in CM House in Karachi. Agha Siraj Durani, Syed Murad Ali Shah and Ayyaz Somro represented the PPP while the MQM was led by Farooq Sattar, Sardar Ahmad, Kanwar Jameel and Wasey Jaleel. Some sections of Sindh Local Government were discussed in detail by the participants.Later, Agha Siraj Durani talking to the media said that members are trying to convince each regarding different sections of the Act, with the hope that local bodies’ elections are likely in October in Sindh.He said that other parties would be taken into confidence after the crucial affairs are settled with the MQM.
