5 more fall prey to Karachi violence

Five people were killed and another five injured in firing incidents in different parts of Karachi.

At least five people were killed in recent wave of target killing and acts of violence in Karachi while another five were injured including a police official.According to details, a man named Rana Asif was shot dead in Baldia Town area on resisting a robbery attempt while Gulab Khan was killed in Pirabad area of Frontier Colony. Police have termed the killing as a result of old enmity.In another incident of violence, some unidentified persons riding on motorcycles opened fire and killed a chicken shop owner Mukhtar Qureshi in Liaquatabad Super Market.In Sohrab Goth area, some unidentified persons shot dead Haji Hashim Khan and injured Walayat, Yousuf and Shaukat when they were sitting at a hotel. Hashim Khan was member of Mini Bus Association.In Janat Gul Town, 22-year-old Arif was killed during a brawl. In yet another incident of violence in Landhi, two activists of a political party, Issa and Khurram, received bullet injuries while a police official was wounded near Nursary area during firing by dacoits.
