Govt urged to soften laws for import from India

Trade ministry has asked the government to soften laws for import from India.

The trade ministry has requested the government to soften laws to enable three trade companies to import banned items from India.This was stated in a secrete summery sent Economic Coordination Committee. Dunya News acquired the document which revealed that these companies want to import equipment related to furnace, grading machine and cement. According to trade policy, these items belong to Pakistani industry and cannot be imported from India.The trade ministry has informed the ECC in its summary that these items can be imported from India through positive list. Prime Minister’s approval is needed if any trade organistan wanted to import something from India. The ECC will decide on the trade ministry summery today.
