Atif Aslam's concert cancelled in India

GURGAON (Dunya News) – Pakistani singer Atif Aslam’s concert has been cancelled in India following the security fears that prevailed after the Uri attack which killed 18 Indian soldiers.

Atif was set to perform in Gurgaon on October 15.

According to Indian Express, the Gurgaon administration had “advised” organisers of the concert to “defer” the planned event.

The move came after member of Hindu group Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Kranti Dal met with Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner and asked him to cancel the event.

Shafqat Amanat Ali’s concert was also cancelled before which was due to be held in Bengaluru on September 30th.

“We decided to cancel the concert of Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali. We took this decision in the aftermath of Uri attacks,” Radio Mirchi Group Manager (Sales) Srinivas said as reported by Indian Express.

Pakistani artists in India have been asked to quit and return to their country amid escalating tensions between both the countries in the aftermath of the Uri attack.

An open letter was penned to Fawad Khan by an Indian journalist demanding his immediate return to Pakistan.

Nationalist party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) also issued a 48-hour deadline to all Pakistani artists to exit India.
