Ghulam Hussnain Bukharis literary services lauded
Poet and writer Ghulam Hasnain Bukhari is famous for his poetry on science subjects.
ISLAMABAD: Speakers paid tributes to the poet at a literary sitting organized by Pakistan Science Foundation on Thursday.
Renowned poet and writer Iftikhar Arif presided over the event while Ejaz Rahim was the chief guest. The PSF Chairman Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro Ali Hussain Naqvi, Dr. Hamid Saleem, Sarfraz Shahid, broadcaster Ms Kausar Samreen and Dr. Anwar Nasim expressed their views on literary contributions of Mr. Bukhari.
Ghulam Hasnain Bukhari, former Member Finance of PSF and authors of nine books, recited his poetry in the august gathering attended by scientists and literary figures and people from different walks of life.
A renowned English poet, writer and intellectual Ejaz Rahim, the chief guest, said Ghulam Hasnain Bukhari has firm belief in power of man that he can do everything with his power.
Bukhari’s poetry is goal setting and also reflects his belief in centrality of human experience. Mr. Rahim said all forms of human experiences must be respected and there should be search for new metaphor.
He was of the view that science and art can bring humility in scientists and poets as the humility is the ultimate power to conquer hearts and minds. Mr Rahim said the culture that is producing knowledge is the culture of science.
The ultimate aim of a man should not to see something but to be something.
He said an institution is known by his peoples and today gathering show that Pakistan Science Foundation is working very hard to create a scientific culture in the country.
Speaking on the occasion the world fame poet Iftikhar Arif said Mr. Ghulam Hasnain Bukhar poetry show that he has strong element of creativity which is a gift of God. Mr Arif said poets are playing an important role in making Pakistan prominent among comity of nations.
PSF is constantly exploring different ways and means for promotion and popularization of science and arranging a literary sitting is a new vision to create awareness among masses about the importance of science for development of the country, said PSF Chairman Prof. Dr. Manzoor Hussain Soomro.
Writers, poets and intellectuals have direct contact with masses through their writings and their role in revolutionizing the society is of immense importance, he said, adding, PSF will benefit from their works to promote science. People interested in scientific poetry are welcome to attend the evening.
Dr. Soomro said PSF, which is working under the umbrella of Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan, has the honor of initiating the Science Popularization concept in Pakistan. Over the years science popularization programmes are being organized to promote science and technology in the country, he added.
Mr. Ali Hussain Naqvi, Dr. Hamid Saleem, Mr. Sarfraz Shahid, broadcaster Ms. Kosar Samreen and Dr. Anwar Nasim also lauded literary works of Mr. Bukhari.
