Danish schools meet needs of poor students: CM

Shahbaz Sharif says PMl-N govt started Danish schools for the poor section of society.

Punjab CM has said that billions of rupees have been spent on such educational institutions as Grammar, Aitcheson and Cadet Colleges, while poor students are fully ignored.He said that it is for the first time in the history that the government of PML (N) has extended opportunity of quality education to the children of downtrodden segment of the society by establishing Daanish Schools in backward areas.He said Daanish School System would usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in the less-developed areas of the province, as its students would play their effective role in progress and prosperity of the country.Chief Minister noted that as many as six Daanish Schools are providing academic facilities to the boys and girls students of South Punjab, whereas Daanish School at Mianwali is near completion, while, six Daanish Schools are also being expeditiously constructed in other less-developed areas. He said that, during the current fiscal year, construction work of Daanish Schools in the districts of Mailsi, Bhakkar, Lutheran and Layyah would also be initiated.The Chief Minister was presiding over a high-level meeting of Daanish School Authority at Tent Office, Minar-e-Pakistan here on Monday during which projects of new Daanish Schools and matters relating to the financial affairs of the Authority were reviewed in detail.He said that Punjab government has adopted revolutionary steps to spread the light of education in the four corners of the Province. The Chief Minister said Punjab Education Endowment Fund has been set up to meet the academic needs of the students and as many as 35000 students are being extended scholarships from the fund.He said that six Daanish Schools are operating in Hasilpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Chishtian, while classes have started at Daanish School at Mianwali, whereas, work is being carried out expeditiously on Daanish Schools at Dera Gazi Khan, Rajanpura and Attock.Chief Minister observed that capable and best teachers have been recruited for Daanish Schools, so that they can impart quality education to the students. He directed that declamation and essay competitions between the children of Daanish Schools and other institutions should be arranged.Shahbaz Sharif said that centers of excellence are being established in various districts for providing opportunities of quality education to the students and it will leave a positive impact on education sector. The participants of the meeting presented various suggestions and proposals to the Chief Minister regarding Daanish School project.
