Police told killed suspect was involved in murder of army officer

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Two suspects trying to escape with weapons and looted money were killed by police near Karachi Northern Bypass.

According to police sources, officials of the law enforcement agency opened fire at four persons who were allegedly involved in criminal offences. Two of the four suspects were gunned down. Police recovered valuables from these suspects.

Police told that one suspect was involved in murder of army officer. Rest of the two persons escaped from crossfire with police. Karachi Police SSP Rao Anwar told they received the information through helpline 15 that some robbers are looting people at SITE Super Highway.

The officers reached the location quickly and were targeted with gun shots as soon as they tried to stop the criminals. Police retaliated and killed two of the suspects while the other two escaped. Weapons and money were recovered from the robbers. Police claim that one of the suspects was involved in murdering army officer.

On the other hand, another incident of firing occurred outside FBR office in Gulistan-e-Johar. Two security guards wearing uniforms similar to policemen were killed by unknown terrorists.
