Court issues 14-day judicial remand of three suspects in human smuggling case

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Local court in Islamabad has sent Saudi Embassy’s driver, official Shahid Iqbal and Dr Sajid to jail on a 14-day judicial remand over human trafficking charges, reported on Monday.

The accused driver Abrar, technical assistant Shahid Iqbal and Dr Sajid were presented before the court of senior judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakkar.

During the hearing, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officer told the court that 30 passports and other suspicious documents were recovered from the possession of the suspects.

He said that the detainees used to take Hajj quota with the assistance of Hajj tour operators. The officer also alleged that the arrested people are involved in human trafficking.

Moreover, the court has sent all the three accused to jail for 14 days.
