Karachi: Police raids Shisha cafe, arrests 15 including girls
The cafe was sealed after the action and several shishas have been confiscated.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police raided a shisha cafe in Clifton Block 9 area late Thursday night. 15 people including girls were arrested during the police raid.
According to Superintedent of Police (SP) Clifton Amjad Hayat, the cafe has been sealed after the action and several shishas have been confiscated.
SP Clifton stated that the owner and manager of the restaurant fled during the raid. Authorities said that cases have been registered against both and they shall soon be arrested.
Shisha smoking, closely related to the traditional Hookah, has been a highly popular past time of the urban youth ever since it was first introduced in the country.
The hip smoking trend was however soon banned after cases of people being drugged up using the smoke surfaced.
Smoking of the vaporized, flavoured tobacco is also frowned upon due to its adverse effects on the health.
